WHO: Koushirou and whoever makes the mistake of responding
WHAT: IMPORTANT QUESTIONS
WHERE: Some secluded corner of the ruins
WHEN: Now-ish but ambiguously whenever you reply
[Although texting is certainly his preferred way of communicating, it's still a little nerve-wracking. But figuring things out is way more important than some unnecessary nervousness, and so he's finally decided to take a break from other things he's working on to ask some questions.]
Hello everyone. In the interest of discovering why and how we arrived here, I had a few questions for those willing to answer them.
The first is what each of us was doing before we found ourselves here, and if it happened in any sort of noteworthy location. Any details could be important, so whatever you remember is likely valuable.
The second is if anyone here is familiar with or experienced in traveling between dimensions or worlds, outside of this one.
The third is if anyone, while here, has attempted any methods of reaching or contacting a dimension or world outside of this one, and what the results were.
[He's... Not expecting much on the last one, honestly, but might as well ask. The first two might result in something useful, though, or at least he hopes they might.
And before he ends the post--]
Thank you for your time.

@XXSK3LLYXX
[Y'know, the typical dramatic day for a Viking warlord.]
I have never traveled to other worlds, but my people are aware of them. And no to the last question.
no subject
Thank you for your response. What sort of other worlds are your people aware of?
no subject
no subject
It is strange that people are from such varied places, especially in that it seems not everyone arrived at the same time.
no subject
[While Ivar does have unfinished business at home, he's not as keen as some to get back. He'd gone through a lot just before he came and needed some time to heal emotionally before tackling his problems again.]
no subject
[At least in his experience, there's usually something specific you have to do to get out of these sorts of places.]
@XXXtra_TerrestriEL
I've tried contacting other worlds, but there aren't any rabbits here, so I didn't get very far.
[ yep. no explanation for that last one. ]
no subject
Had you been to the other world you were trying to reach before?
[Also, he's totally going to ask--]
What do you need rabbits for?
no subject
Rabbits are capable of slipping between dimensions. They're something like the least common denominator between several universes, supposedly, so they don't have to follow the same rules as a lot of the rest of use have to when skipping over borders.
no subject
How did you become king of another world?
That's very interesting, about the rabbits. There are no rabbits--not like the ones on Earth, at least--in the other world I'm familiar with.
@xxDARK_STARxx
I'm familiar with time travel. But the technology [ for want of a better word ] used to accomplish it never existed.
Are you from Earth?
no subject
Familiar with it in the sense of understanding the theory? It's similar in my world; there are potential known theories for time travel that should work, but we don't have the technology to actually attempt any of them.
Yes, I'm from Earth; specifically Tokyo, Japan. Are you from Earth too?
no subject
I've traveled through time on three occasions.
The tech was unmade, you could say. Prevented, via time travel, from being developed. [ Note the careful use of the passive voice. Or don't: he'd prefer you didn't. ]
Sorry, I know it's a mindfuck.
no subject
He totally doesn't notice the phrasing, never all that great at subtle social things like that, and also utterly distracted by the actual subject matter.]
Why was it unmade? Since that was possible without--presumably, since it sounds as though it was done successfully--the creation of a paradox, then the theory of paradoxical actions simply becoming accounted for by retroactive course correction in the timeline seems to be true in your world?
[Tell him details HE WANTS TO KNOW]
no subject
Give him a second with the next sentence. ] That's right. More research could've been done on that front beforehand. [ But thinking things through was never COST's strong suit. ]
no subject
That's understandable. Even someone who thought they were doing good could accidentally cause a lot of harm.
[Let alone someone with malicious intentions.]
Do you think that the solution is permanent, or that time travel may simply be rediscovered in your world eventually?
no subject
He warms to whoever this is, worrying over the fate of worlds and times not his own. ] Nothing's permanent. [ It looks ominous, there in text, but it's true. Time travel itself was built from the bones of a long-dead god. ] Least of all here.
Tell me about your world.
no subject
In addition to the genuine concern for the status of other worlds, Koushirou's fascinated by the idea of having to rediscover completely 'lost' technology, and he'd like to ask about a million more questions. But he's at least a little better at social cues--especially through text--than he used to be, so he decides to let the subject change for now.
But answering that question in turn in a little difficult, both in terms of how to describe it to someone from another world--what's important and what isn't?--but also how much he actually wants to say. There isn't a lot of reason to be secretive, but he also isn't sure explaining everything immediately is the best idea either.]
It's 2005, presuming we're using the same calendar system.
[Which is probably a safe-ish guess, considering they're both from locations they recognize, which would be unlikely without a lot of general similarities.]
I'm not sure what else may be relevant to tell you, generally. There is no time travel, but another dimension is widely known of although travel to and from that world can be difficult. There are also several other dimensions that are less well known.
no subject
But you know about them. [ In person, his tone would be somewhere between teasing and probing. Without the frank interest, the light in his eyes, it may come across differently. ] How were they discovered?
no subject
He considers for a moment how much to answer the question, but decides there isn't a lot of reason not to just be honest.]
They have all been accidental discoveries, usually through unintentional travel to one of them. Much like finding ourselves here.
@iCu
no subject
The rest of her response is more interesting, though. It also helps that the word choice helps him identify who this is, and so he can link the screen name with a person he's actually met in person.]
What do you mean by 'sort of'? And sick in what way; are you okay?
no subject
alternate universes pocket yes pocket dimensions pardon they're out there don't really travel sorry on purpose but I've been in pardon them yes yes it just makes me unwell sorry dizzy headaches
no subject
I'm familiar with pocket dimensions. They were within the world you're familiar with, not another one entirely?
Do you know why it causes those side effects? Were you attempting to leave, or just communicate?
no subject
no subject
Using your powers makes you sick? Is that normal?
[Also what powers are those, but
onetwo questions at a time is probably enough.]@TARGYLE
I'm ridiculously late on this tag so feel free to drop if you want <3
[He presumes from context it was some sort of struggle for power, but he's curious to know more about it.]
