ruth (yes, pardon)

It takes a while, but she does eventually stir from the empty sleep. Her head's still pounding in time with her pulse, there's dried blood all over her face, and--she reaches a hand up to her face, the other one feeling around in the grass. Someone took her blindfold off. She's got to get that back on before someone decides she's too much mutant to deal with. Every movement takes effort, though--her limbs have all the strength of a newborn kitten's, and they're altogether too heavy despite feeling like there's no muscle left inside them.

Is this what a hangover feels like? A hangover, with a little shot of panicked concern. (And a lot of dried blood.)

"P-pardon--" but her mouth feels like it's made of socks. Swallowing, she tries again. "Yes. Thank you. Where's my blindfold?"
