Ellie is still shivering, wrapped up and eyes closed; she only notices when she hears the flickering of flame and the smell of burning. She shuffles toward it like human larvae. She shivers for a long time, but the fire grows, and so does the warmth surrounding it. Who knows how long it's been by the time she can stand to open her eyes.
"Thanks for saving my life again," she murmurs. "I think we're even for the beer."
