( listening to Robbie doesn't feel quite so defeating as things said before, even if that change is subtle. there's a sense of questioning, an awareness. Ben lets himself feel just the barest amounts of hopeful for him.
the hand on the glass is nearly burning, not damaging, but intense enough that Ben looks at him with confusion. it's there that Ben realizes that the texture of the glass is...no longer so rigid.
